This is a small beach, mostly accessed during low tide, but a place with many charms. In addition to the rocks and ponds, two of the waves that form part of the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve are found here: the twin sisters that go under the names Pedra Branca and Reef attract surfers and bodyboarders all year long. Unsupervised, but with the Beach SOS system, it has portable toilet facilities during the bathing season.
A few metres from the Empa beach (just across National Highway 247) is Ericeira Camping, which is known for the range of services it offers in the areas of camping and caravanning.
