São Julião beach is part of the Municipalities of Mafra (parish of Carvoeira) and Sintra. With an extensive beach divided by cliffs, it is one of the region’s most beautiful beaches. As it is quite exposed to swells, it forms part of the route of surfers and bodyboarders, mainly when they seek waves on the calmer days of summer. The beach is supervised by a lifeguard and the SOS Praia (Beach SOS) system, it has a bar for bathers.
